On Varietal Responses for Salt Injury and the Calcium Protection in Radish

Abstract
Calcium action protecting salt injury (NaCl) of five different varieties of Korean radish was subjected to determine extent of the action on the seed germination and seedling growth with the following experimental results:
When radicle and hypocotyl length were measured as showing certain extent of salt injury, radicle was found to be more indicative of showing growth than the other. Thus radish growth showed that there is more calcium protection on varieties (i.e., var. Minong) of higher salt tolerance and vice versa (i.e., var. Simu).
